A440 is an exciting mixed voice choir of 40 singers based in Berkshire. It is dedicated to combining musical excellence with a strong sense of community.

Formed in 2011, the A440 is one of the leading amateur choirs in the area. The choir has a passion for exploring new and innovative ways of presenting choral music as part of a larger narrative. This distinctive quality has been showcased through collaborations with a broad range of artists including actors, poets, painters and dancers.

The choir’s wide repertoire which ranges from sacred to contemporary music engages all audiences and leaves them feeling uplifted. Members share a love of singing and an enthusiasm for striving for the highest possible standard of singing.

Recently the choir has enjoyed success at a number of choral festivals and competitions; receiving a distinction at Cheltenham Music Festival in 2016, placing in the prestigious North Wales Choral Festival in Llandudno Oct 2014 and winning the
Mayor of Reading’s choral festival at the Hexagon in April 2014.

As of July 2016 the Choir is delighted to welcome Lucy Joy Morris, a vibrant young conductor, as their new musical director. A440 is looking forward to this exciting new chapter in its life.
